Weather Warning

Snowfall warning for: Montreal Metropolitain-Laval

Issued at 9:37 PM EST TUESDAY 4 MARCH 2008

AROUND 15 CM OF SNOW IS EXPECTED OVER SOUTHWESTERN QUEBEC AREAS AND SNOW AMOUNTS COULD REACH 30 TO 35 CM IN THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN AREAS OF THE PROVINCE.

ANOTHER STORM IS APPROACHING QUEBEC FROM THE AMERICAN MIDWEST. IT WILL BRING SNOW OVER SOUTHWESTERN REGIONS BEGINNING LATE THIS EVENING. THE SNOW WILL SPREAD TOWARD CENTRAL REGIONS WEDNESDAY MORNING AND TO EASTERN QUEBEC LATER ON. IN THE MEANTIME, BRISK NORTHEAST WINDS WILL DEVELOP AND CAUSE WIDESPREAD BLOWING SNOW IN AREAS NEAR THE RIVER AND IN GASPESIE. THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FOUL WEATHER WILL MOVE ALONG QUEBEC - NEW ENGLAND BORDER DURING THE DAY. AS IT APPROACHES, SNOW WILL CHANGE TO ICE PELLETS AND COULD EVEN CHANGE INTO FREEZING RAIN IN SOUTHERNMOST REGIONS. THIS WILL LIMIT THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OVER SOUTHWESTERN QUEBEC. A FREEZING RAIN WARNING MAY ALSO BE ISSUED WITH THE NEXT BULLETIN IF THE AREA OF FREEZING PRECIPITATION COMES TOO CLOSE TO OUR REGIONS.

Ahora va y resulta que hemos venido a Montreal en el invierno con mas nieve desde hace 50 aƱos. Y mientras la nieve se sigue amontonando en la terraza........

Hugo
